Getting to know the teacher.
Hello! My name is Johnette Warner and I am one of two 7th grade English Language Arts (ELA) teachers at Wayne County Middle School.
This is my fifth year teaching middle school. I have always taught 7th grade with the exception of one year. I was blessed to be able to move "back home" from Boone County, Florence, Kentucky. Although Boone County was always good to me and I loved my students, I am really excited to be back home and look forward to a brand new journey of teaching in Wayne County. I love every minute of teaching!
I graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in Middle Grade Education in 2008. I am currently pursuing my Masters of Education Degree and will graduate in October of this year. I am married to Wayne and we have two adult boys, James and Chris, and a daughter, Teresa. We have three granddaughters (soon to be four!), Madison, Lainey, Autumn and soon-to-be June. Of course, we can't forget the "babies," Rocky, Tessa, Shadow, and, Maybelle, our VERY spoiled dogs (go to the Photo tab to see pictures.)
I enjoy scrapbooking --okay, let me rephrase that-- I am OBSESSED with scrapbooking, and ENJOY reading, outdoors, chick flicks [to include TWILIGHT! Okay, I LOVE Twilight.], classic car/truck shows, spending time with my family, and of course, I LOVE my job! :)
I am excited, once again, to jump right in with both feet! I love getting to know all of my students and this year, I look forward to incorporating novels in each of our units, while we tie in our national standards! That - in itself - is exciting! I hope you are as excited as I am! Feel free to browse the site; I will be updating it as the year progresses.
I look forward to seeing you! Mrs. Warner
